How to Find Sheds for Sale

There are often sheds for sale to buy on places like eBay, but you’ll probably have just as much luck looking at other sources online. The important thing to consider is that you have to base your purchase on what you’re planning to put into storage, as opposed to snatching up the least expensive option. This sounds pretty obvious, but you’d be very surprised how easy it is to throw the obvious out the window when you see a very good option.

The first type to consider is the mini barn. This is a very compact wooden structure that almost looks like it can be carried away by a large forklift (though it’s still not considered portable). They’re usually just shorter than 9 feet tall and 12 feet long. What will you spend on one of these? Probably a little over $1100, depending on where you buy it. Now, this style is in contrast to the large garage style buildings over 10 feet tall and 16 feet long. These usually have the same design but run about $1800.

There are also those made for machine storage (this is the type you would see on a farm). You can use it for your yard equipment if you have a large landscape requiring a riding on lawn mower and other things. The difference in this type of shed is minimal, though you might see a garage like door rather than typical barn style doors. They can be standard styles, though they also come in Victorian and Truss (designed that way chiefly to match your house).

Now, you may think that the most common outdoor sheds are made of timber (some sort of cedar log, usually), but there are other excellent materials available as well, sometimes for less money. These other materials are vinyl and metal (usually tin). The problem with metal is that it is susceptible to rust and it can get extremely hot inside if you live in a warm climate. Vinyl is excellent because it’s extremely durable, though it may have a cheap look that doesn’t fit in with the rest of your yard. If this isn’t the case, by all means consider it.
